Attorneys
Arnold R. Hedeen is a member with the law firm of Hedeen & Caditz, PLLC. His practice
focuses on construction and government contract law and general civil litigation. Mr. Hedeen
represents owners, prime contractors, subcontractors and material suppliers, as well as
construction industry trade associations. He is coauthor of the AGC of Washington Lien and
Bond Claim Handbook, Public Contracting in Washington, and the Construction Lien Section
of the Washington Real Property Deskbook. Mr. Hedeen is a past Chair of the Construction
Law Section of the Washington State Bar Association, and a member of the Washington State
Trial Lawyers Association, the Washington State Association of Municipal Attorneys, and is a
panel member of the American Arbitration Association. He is a frequent construction law
speaker for several contractor groups including the Mechanical Contractors Association of
Western Washington, the Northwest Wall and Ceiling Bureau, the Washington Cities Insurance
Authority, the Pacific Northwest Steel Fabricators Association, the Washington Asphalt
Paving Association, and the Associated General Contractors of Washington.
Bryan D. Caditz is a member of the law firm of Hedeen & Caditz, PLLC where he
specializes in construction and employment law and general litigation. Mr. Caditz was born in Port Townsend, Washington and attended the University of Washington where he received an
economics degree in 1981. Mr. Caditz received his law degree from the University of
Washington School of Law in 1985. He represents public and private owners, prime
contractors, subcontractors and design professionals. Mr. Caditz is past Chair of the
Construction Law Section of the Washington State Bar Association and the Chair of the City of
Mercer Island Design Commission. He is a frequent speaker at construction
industry seminars and has lectured on construction related subjects including competitive
bidding, claims and lien and bond rights. He is a co-author of the Construction Lien Section of
the Washington Real Property Deskbook and the AGC of Washington Lien and Bond Claim Handbook.
Bryan E. Lee is of counsel to Hedeen & Caditz, PLLC. Mr. Lee obtained a B.S. in Civil
Engineering from the University of Virginia, focusing on structural engineering and project
planning. Mr. Lee worked as a structural engineer for The Boeing Company in Seattle before
attending and graduating from law school at the University of Washington, where he was a member
and editor on the Washington Law Review. Mr. Lee has worked in construction claims and
litigation since 1985 and continues his practice in construction and commercial litigation. Mr. Lee
also has extensive experience in surety and fidelity coverage issues on behalf of insurers, and has
handled several appeals dating back to law school. Mr. Lee is also a trained mediator, and has acted
as arbitrator in more than a dozen mandatory arbitration cases. Mr. Lee is admitted to practice in
the Supreme Court of Washington, the United States District Court for the Western District of
Washington, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Washington, the United
States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the United States Court of Federal Claims, and has
been admitted pro hac vice in federal courts in Idaho and California.
